Our Staff

We're proud to introduce members of the professional team who are privileged to serve you at Garden City Funerals & Cremations.

Bryce Giroux

President & Managing Director

A St. Catharines native and graduate of West Park Secondary School, Bryce Giroux began his funeral service career in 2012. Having completed his observation period right here at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel (now Garden City Funerals & Cremations), he entered the funeral service program at Humber College from where he graduated in 2014. In the years since he left Humber, Bryce has held progressively responsible positions with funeral homes in Toronto and here in the Niagara Region, as a funeral director.

Beyond his demanding professional responsibilities and ongoing development of his own skills, he has also been active in community outreach, organizing charitable events. Over the years he has also volunteered his time with various sports associations including the Niagara Football Association and Concord Soccer Club, as well as Habitat for Humanity.

A significant part of Bryce’s career has been his focus on the role of introducing, encouraging and mentoring young people interested in a career in funeral service. He has also served his profession in a volunteer capacity, sitting on the Board of Directors of the Niagara District Funeral Service Association.

In September 2020, Bryce Giroux achieved a career goal, becoming the owner/manager of his own funeral home in the heart of downtown St. Catharines, allowing him to serve his home town from his own business.

Terry Flynn

Funeral Director Assistant

Terry has dedicated over 40 years to public service, recently retiring as a Paramedic Superintendent after a long career in Emergency Medical Services. He also retired from a 35-year volunteer firefighter role with Niagara-On-The-Lake Fire and Emergency Services and served 21 years on Niagara-On-The-Lake Town Council, including nine years as Deputy Lord Mayor.

In 2024, Terry joined our team to continue his service and is currently studying at Humber College to become a Pre-planning and Aftercare Specialist. He is an active member of the Niagara Lions Club and has participated in numerous fundraising events.

Terry has received several accolades, including the Niagara-On-The-Lake Citizen of the Year Award, the Lions International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship Award, and the Governor General's Exemplary Service Medal.

A parishioner at St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral and St. Vincent De Paul, Terry has served as a Eucharistic, hospitality, and liturgical minister.
