Obituary of Patrick Foley

FOLEY, Patrick Vincent Patrick entered into rest peacefully at the Niagara Health Systems … St. Catharines Site on Monday May 7th, 2018 in his 71st year after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Dear brother of Sharron Burgess and Joseph (Maria) Foley. Loving uncle to Jim (Colleen) Burgess, Michael (Carlie) Burgess, Caitlin Burgess, Jordon (Candice) Foley, Shannon (Dylan) Foley and will be remembered by his many great nieces and nephews Sophie, Charlotte, Skylar, Hannah, Jackson, Hunter, Noah and Tanner. Patrick is predeceased by his parents Terrence and Marguerite (nee O'Connell)Patrick was a St. Catharines resident all his life and for 30 years was a well respected teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board. He was well liked by his students and colleagues. As an avid reader he could expound on any topic, a walking “Google”. Patrick loved to travel and did so the world over. As an enthusiastic outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cottaging and boating throughout his summers. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the hospital for their time, patience and kindness. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St. St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday May 15, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of service in the chapel on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations would be appreciated to Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association. Interment to take place at a later date at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Downeyville, Ontario.
