Obituary of Monica McKay

McKay, Monica (nee Ready) It is with great sadness that the family of Monica announces her passing on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. The loving wife of Ivan for over sixty-five years. Cherished mother of Ron (Sheila), Carol (J.T.) and Scott (Margaret). Loving Grandma of Matt and Ian. Monica was raised in the Ottawa Valley by her loving parents, Tom and Hilda Ready. Dear sister of Patsy (late Robert) and Dave (Lesley). Predeceased by a brother Archie and three sisters Shirley, June and Bride (Victor). Monica had the gift of humour, compassion and loved sharing time with family and friends. Always a doer, Monica spent countless hours volunteering throughout the community. This included hours spent with her beloved Liberals federally, provincially and municipally. Monica passed away peacefully at her home with her family at her side. The family thanks Dr. Lucey, Darla and all those that supported her. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3pm to 6pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11am. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
