Obituary of George Arnold

Arnold, George Hubert WWII Veteran ~ Peacefully in his 92nd year at the Niagara Falls General Hospital on Tuesday February 5, 2013. Predeceased by beloved wife Kathleen “Kaye”Arnold (nee Pirie). Loving father of Louise Wahlman, Patti Arnold and Tim Arnold. Loving “Grandbob” of Carolynne, Erin, Brooke, Brianne and Matthew and 4 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Vernon and Harvey ( Barbara ). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends at Martindale Place, especially dear Eileen. Predeceased by a brother Eric and by two sisters Doris and Ruth. George was educated at his parent’s private school, Niagara Falls Boys College. Following the war, he held managerial positions with Firestone retiring in 1984. George was a member of the Burlington and Port Dalhousie Royal Canadian Legions, served as an elder at Cheynne Presbyterian Church in Stoney Creek and was a member at Knox Presbyterian Church in St. Catharines. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, (905-685-6584) 39 Court St., St. Catharines on Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Church St., St.Catharines on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11am. Interment at 3pm in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Stoney Creek (905-545-9871). Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara, 403 Ontario St. St Catharines Ont.L2N 1L5 would be appreciated by the family.
