Obituary of Flora Mary McNaughton

McNaughton (neé Duhaime), Flora Mary With her family at her side, Flora went peacefully into the arms of God, reunited with her beloved husband, Duncan (2001) and daughter Candy (2012). She was cherished by her children, Mick (Patricia), Terrance (Tiina), Robin (Sandy) and Kelly. Flora had a good sense of humour and was a playful and devoted grandmother to Iain (Lucy), Blake (Jaclyn), Meghan, Tyler (Sandy), D’Arcy, Morgan, Erik (Liz), Amanda, Alexandra, Allison, Aynsley, Adam, Jordan, Aidan, and Kyle as well as five great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother, Patrick (TD) Duhaime. Flora was always athletic and was a faithful member of a gym. She enjoyed painting and travelling. Prior to marriage, Flora was a Supervisor with Bell Canada. Afterwards, her priority became her family, especially her daughter, Candy, with Down Syndrome. She also enjoyed her many friends. Flora was the recipient of the CCAC “Heroes in the Home” Award and a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was a remarkable mother, strong, courageous and graceful. Her unconditional love nurtured our roots. A special thank you to the doctors, and to the nursing staff of the Niagara Health System for their kind and compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday, May 10 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
