I was very saddened to hear of Pauls' passing from this fine earth of ours. He was truly a talented musician, a most unique individual that was well acquainted with numerous subjects and topics, had a superb sense of humour and was always willing to give his time to you for any type of chat. Our community, especially that of musicians, is weakened by his absence. To the entire family I extend most sincere condolences and may Paul be at peace. He will be missed by everyone that knew him!

In an industry full of characters Paul did more than hold his own and my memories of him always being a smile to my face. Paul’s heart was as big as his sense of humour and his legacy will live forever in the soul of every musician he worked with and every fan that enjoyed his talent. To the entire extended Wheeler family, you have my sincerest condolences.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to Lisa, Debbie, Kathy and family. So many memories come flooding back when we think of Paul. We met Paul and his brother Jon in 2004. They were our knights in shining armour. They played with us at our first bar gig. We were so lucky to play with such genuinely nice guys who were so talented and so experienced. We hit it off right away. The four of us shared many good times together and weeks turned into months and months turned into years. We had fun loading in, setting up and tearing down together. Those times were just for us. Both Paul and Jon loved telling stories about life on the road, people they met, friends they made, times shared with family. But the real fun was when we made music together. That's when the real magic began for us. We loved being on stage together. We loved our friends who supported us. We always wanted to put on the best show that we could.
We were always so impressed and in awe of Paul's and Jon's talent and their love for each other and their family. Paul was one of the nicest guys we'd ever met. He had a heart of gold and was so kind. His sense of humour was unmatched. He always had us cracking up and his hand puppet was never far away. He never once took a serious photo, always choosing to make a funny face of some sort. That was just Paul. And that was one of the things we loved about him. He was always genuine. He also was the best storyteller and we loved hearing about the trials and tribulations of life on the road as a working band. He never ran out of stories to tell.
We loved our gigs together as well as the many after gig times and sleepovers at our place when our band played in Fonthill. On one occasion Paul fell asleep on our dog's bed in front of the fireplace and stayed there for the entire night. Not sure how happy our dog was about that! But Paul was content. He said he'd slept on worse!
We will always remember how generous Paul was to take us under his wings and teach us the ropes. We were so fortunate to have him in our corner and accept us as his bandmates. Thank you Paul for all that you did for us and for allowing us the honour of sharing the stage and part of your life with us. We will always remember you with much love. Patti & Mick Parker

I've known Paul since I was 15 yrs old. I lived with them for a short period in Toronto and remember the Wheelers playing at the Gasworks in Toronto back in the day. He was a awsome musician and loved hearing them play. He has always been a very wise and kind soul with a great sense of humor. I have some good memories that I will always remember. We chatted quite a bit when John and my sister passed away. We found comfort in eachother, he always had kind words. I will always cherish my memories of Paul. He will be sadly missed. R.I.P. my friend. Lots of love Kathy Loney xoxo

This was the last time I saw Paul. Fun night in London when he was playing with Matt Keighan's band. I was so happy to see him that night, with me living in London and him a busy musician didn't get together as often as in the old days but that night was like the old days again. He put that smile on my face because that's what he did for everyone. He may be gone but I have great memories of him. So sorry for the loss everyone is feeling. Going to miss him, R.I.P. Paul
