Obituary of David Hughes

David Hughes (82) peacefully passed away at home in St. Catharines on Wednesday, April 20th, with his wife Barbara, daughter Leanne, and nephew Ron by his side. We are grateful to the wonderful people from the LIN, and the Palliative team of Paramedics, PSW’s and Nurses who made it possible for us to honour his wishes to remain at home. He was predeceased by his beloved son Douglas Hughes, brothers Douglas and Jim Hughes and brothers-in-law Jim Staines and Art Mitchell. David also leaves behind his son in law Josh Klop and grandchildren Austin and Grayson, mother in law Betty Lindsey, sister Doreen, and sister-in-laws Dooney Hughes, Betty-Ann Hughes, Betty (Vince) Goldsworthy, Bonnie Mitchell and Janice Levasseur and many nieces and nephews and dear friends who adored him. David was an extraordinary, loving man. a true hero and gentleman. He was a brave man who served in the United States Marine Corp as a Master Gunnery Sergeant and was both loved and respected.
