Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Green
GREEN, Mary Elizabeth (nee McDonald) - Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday September 3, 2023. Sadly missed and survived by her husband Ron Green, Brother in Laws Gary (Irene) Millington, Howard
(Katherine) Green, Randy ( Ana) Green, Rick Green and Emmett and Nancy Young, aunts Lydia Kerber, Elizabeth Green, Sharon and Bonnie Desjardins and their families Uncle Arthur Green
and his family, many nieces and nephews, special friends Peggy Champion ,Lynn Payette, Marg and
Pete Conley, Mary was also volunteer at St.Alfreds St. Vincent St. Paul and a former St.Catharines
General Hospital Volunteer.
Mary was employed by the St.Catharines Waterworks Commission and later by the City of St. Catharines
Finance Department at City Hall where she meet her future partner Ron in 1970. Mary enjoyed sea
cruising and many other forms of travelling including as a Life Member of HOG on the back of Ron’s
Harley Davidson, her home and gardening, formal military dinners, fine dining, a rare glass of white
wine, British TV, good music, live theatre and all of her former pets.
With special thanks to all the great staff at the Walker Cancer Clinic for their understanding, care and
support and for prolonging our time together and like the song she was unstoppable and refused to give
up and I thank you God for giving her to me. Also special thanks to Dr. Grada, Dr.Bisson and the rest of
the Walker Cancer Clinic including Dr. Dinninwell and Dr. Khan and their staff.
Special thanks to Palliative Care Nursing from the St. Elizabeth Health Care team , Care Partners, and
their PSW’s, The Occupational Therapy Team and the Right At Home Burlington Staff for their great
support in our time of need from Suneela who with me at the end and to Medigas for the use of their
equipment . To all of our special life time friends and family members for their support and assistance.
To Rev. Father Richard Kowalchuk Pastor of Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church and all the
members of the Parish and to the Knights of Columbus members or their continued prayers for Mary.
I would also like to thank the staff at Garden City Funeral Home, for all their professional assistance. As per her wishes cremation has taken place.
Friends are invited to Garden City Funerals and Cremations ( Formerly Patrick J Darte Funeral Chapel), 39 Court Street, St.Catharines (Downtown) visiting Monday September 11th from 7pm until 9pm with vigil prayers at 7 pm.
