Obituary of Nicolaos Vlassis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicolaos Vlassis on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the age of 78. After a very strong battle with illness, Nicolaos passed away with his family by his side. Loving husband of Helen Vlassis for 55 beautiful years. Beloved father of John Vlassis and Vicky Vlassis-Radulovich (Ognyen). Dear grandfather of Nikolas and Alexandar. Predeceased by his parents Ioannis and Nicoleta Vlassis. 

Nicolaos was born in Corfu, Greece and emigrated to Canada as a newlywed in 1968. He was an extremely happy and hardworking man who devoted his life to providing for his family. He owned a car dealership and was a very skilled mechanic for over 40 years. After he retired he also worked as a Supervisor for Al Macs.   

Nicolaos was a very caring and good man who put a smile on everyone’s faces. He loved his family immensely and was an extremely proud grandfather. Nicolaos was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. May his memory be eternal. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 28, 2024 from 3-8 p.m. at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara St., in St. Catharines. The First Thrice Holy Hymn Service/Trisagio will be held on Sunday January 28, 2024 at 7 p.m. The Second Thrice Holy Hymn\Trisagio will occur, with the ensuing Funeral Service on Monday January 29, 2024 at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church at 11 a.m. The Third Thrice Holy Hymn\Trisagio and Burial will occur at Victoria Lawn Cemetery following the Funeral Service. A reception will follow at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church
