Obituary of Arturo Garcia
GARCIA, Arturo - Passed away on February 19, 2024 at the age of 82. Survived by his loving wife, Cristina, his two daughters, Patricia Garcia and Natascha (Darrin) McCutcheon, as well as his two grandsons Conner Reid (McCutcheon) and Dane McCutcheon. Arturo was born in Mexico where he was the oldest of his four siblings: Jorge, Gilbert, Lupita and David. Arturo left Mexico at the early age of 20 with only $35 in his pocket and began making his new home in Canada. Arturo quickly began learning how to speak English, learning how to drive and seeking employment. Arturo's persistence, hard work and dedication earned him a successful 32 year career with Bell Canada where he ultimately retired. However, Arturo was someone who needed to be occupied. In his "retirement," he found himself in a new part-time career at Home Depot. In his personal life, Arturo was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was best known for his amusing sense of humor and quiet nature. He was a big fan and player of his two favorite sports, golf & tennis. In keeping with Arturo's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on March 2nd at 12pm. This will be held in the lounge area of the building at 7 Gale Crescent, St. Catherines, Ontario L2R 7M8. In honour of Arturo's memory, memorial donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
