Obituary of Fr. Dimitrios Tzaneteas

Tzaneteas, Rev. Fr. Dimitrios Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at St. Catharines General Hospital, aged sixty-six. Fr. Tzaneteas is lovingly remembered by his wife Presvytera Maria, his three children Elias , Tim and Evangeline. Dear son of Evagelia and the late Elias, dear brother of George (Toula), John and Chris (Karry), Dear brother-in-law of Voula (Peter), Dino (Sotiria), Chris (Teresa). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by in laws Rev. Fr. Efthimios and Presvytera Panagiota and sisters-in-law Olga (Leonidas) and Politimi (John). Fr. Tzaneteas of Kalivia Sohas of Sparta emigrated to Canada in 1966. He served faithfully in Greece, Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal and St. Catharines. In any parish he served, he touched the lives of many people and left an impression on everyone’s heart. Visitation will be held at St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church, 585 Niagara Street, St. Catharines (905-685-3028) on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2pm until 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the church on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 12noon. Divine Liturgy will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 9am until 11am. Interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Katharine Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated by the family. He will be lovingly remembered by family, friends and parishioners.
