Obituary of Angela Shegda

Shegda, Angela Peacefully with her daughters by her side at Hospice Niagara on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. In her 84th year, Angela Shegda (nee Lango), beloved wife of the late Orest Shegda. Loving mother of Iris, Linda (Bob Edney) and Angelina (Frank Habjan). Loving “Noni” of Sarah, Samuel, Kristopher (Hayley), Nicholas (Ashley), Sebastian (Alicia) and great grandson Kolton. Predeceased by a daughter Joanna. Angela was the youngest of eleven children. She was born in Deskle, Slovenia immigrating to Canada at the age of nineteen. Angela was known for her pastoral work at Hotel Dieu and Hotel Dieu Shaver for thirty years. Her deepest love was her family. She also loved her flowers and being outdoors. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday,January 8, 2016 from 7 to 9pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 67 Church Street, St. Catharines (905-684-3964) on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:30am officiated by Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick and Father Donald Lizzotti. Rite of committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated.
