Obituary of Kathleen Kretz

Kretz, Kathleen (Kitty) nee Walsh Born in Musselburgh, Scotland August 10, 1921 … December 17, 2014 Kitty died peacefully in her own bed, at home, as she wanted,surrounded by Tony, her loving husband of 69 years, and their children, Margaret (Yehia), Lynn (Richard), Karen (Dennis),Renee (Jerry), Teddy, Stephen (Mary) and Sheila (Ed). She dedicated her life to mothering seven children, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Kitty was a founding and sustaining member of St. Denis CWL. She was an accomplished knitter, a voracious reader and daily completed the cryptic crossword. She was able to hold her own in any conversation. A special thank you to Babes and Donna for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel,39 Court Street,St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 3pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in memory of Kitty at St. Denis Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street, St. Catharines (905-685-5911)on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11am. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to either the Canadian Food for Children, 40 King George Rd., Toronto M8X 1L3 (905-274-9239) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
