Obituary of James Clarke

Clarke, James ~ Passed away at his home in Thorold on Saturday March 14, 2009. In his 71st year, James “Jim” David Clarke, loving husband of Grace Clarke (nee Makinson). Loving “Dad” of Darren and his partner Caroline, Jimmy and his wife Shelagh, Leah, and Cheryl and her husband Mike Levi. Loved “Papa” of Jovi, Hudson, Teagan and Chelsea. Dear brother of Marion Macgillivray and Joe Clarke and his wife Diana. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Eleanor and by his parents ‘J.V.’ Clarke and his wife Christina (nee Williams). Jim loved his family and delighted in his grandchildren. Favourite pastimes included debating with friends outside Ashford’s, exchanging puns and corny jokes, reading, baseball and dining on lobster. Jim’s family wish to thank Dr. Tatzel and nurses Carolyn and Glenda of the Community Care Access Centre, and all who supported Jim. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Holy Rosary Hall, 35 Queen Street, S., Thorold on Friday March 20, 2009 at 12 noon followed by visiting until 3pm. Interment in Pleasantview Cemetery, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice if desired (and may be made by calling Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel 905-685-6584).
