My sincere condolences. Mr. Kittel was a very pleasant and sociable gentleman from my view, getting my hair cut as a young boy, at the corner of Lake and Queen Streets. My mother(June Porter Bates) born in 1912 taught Rudy as an ESL student. She told me that Rudy spoke between 5 and 7 languages and that whenever she had difficulty communicating with one of her non-English speaking students that Rudy would step in to help. I have nothing but fond memories of “Rudy”. At 77 years old, I am trying to recall whether Rudy started at “Four Barbers” on St. Paul Street, near Beattie’s, before starting his sole proprietorship?
