Obituary of John Bak

Bak, John - Peacefully passed away on Monday May 2, 2011 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Maria “Mary” Bak. Loving father of Eleanor Keltos (Ron), Ron (Veronica), Rosanna (Glenn Davis). “Dzedo” of Rebecca (Tony Alfieri), Andrew Keltos (Michelle), Frank Keltos (Sharon), Christopher Bak, Matthew and Andrew Davis, and “Dzedko” to all great grandchildren Domenic, Robert, Michael, Matthew, Emma, Samantha, Brookelyn. Remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Mike (Julia), Steve (Agnes), Paul, Rose and Andy. Brother-in-law of Anne Vyboh. Predeceased by his parents Maria and Michael Bak, his sister Mary, his brothers-in-law Michael and Joseph, his sister-in-law Barbara. John was an active member and past president of the Canadian Slovak League, Branch 31, a long time usher at the St. Julia Catholic Church. He was a current member of the Queen of Angels Oratory in St. Catharines. Many thanks to and God bless the I.C.U. staff and all who cared for John at the Hamilton General Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 31 Chesnut St., E., St. Catharines on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11am. Rosary prayers to be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 4 at 3pm. The Rite of Committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Queen of Angels Oratory would be appreciated by the family.
