Obituary of Harold Nash
NASH Harold 1933-2011 – Today I have lost my best friend, the love of my life for over 60 years. Harold passed away at home after a long battle with cancer, with his loving family at his side. He was lucky to have had such devoted children, who gave him around the clock special care. Harold is survived by his loving wife Marlene (nee Green) two daughters Kelly (Barry) Boekestyn and Kristine, three sons Kevin, Ken (Susan) and Kreg. Grandchildren Brandi, James (Beth) and Christopher Boekestyn, Taylor, Brent, Nicholas and Hannah Nash. Great Grandchildren Isaiah, Ryder, Coban and Kylee Boekestyn. Brother Donald “Nipper” (Barb) Sisters Joan (Bill), June (Wes), Gail (Dennis), Linda (Jim). Sisters in law Bette, Joan, Anne Marie. Brother in law Richard. Predeceased by daughters, Kim and Karen, granddaughter Kerri Boekestyn, and great granddaughter Angelina Boekestyn, mother and father Hannah and William, brothers William and Ronald. Harold had a special friend in Nipper, who was his bud. Nipper was always there for him with stories. He enjoyed all the sweets Barb brought as well as all the hugs and kisses from June. Harold loved to hunt, golf and fish. He also loved his Good Friday hikes, a Nash family tradition for over 53 years. Harold was a member of Moose Lodge #936. We would like to thank Dr. Avinte and Carma from Hospice, Dr. David Henry, Elsie, Home Nurses Elisabeth, Carolyn, Jill and Rebecca, care givers Holly Wier and Linda Grant. Thanks to Jack Graham, Roberta from Shoppers Drug Mart neighbours Kathy Lattimer and Debby Smith for all their support, and Tony Vanderklis for the Christmas lights. Although we will miss him, Kim and Karen will be happy to have their father back in their arms again. The family want to thank Kelly for taking a leave of absence to take care of her dad. Finally Harold is free from his pain and suffering. Friends may call at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Sunday, July 17, 20011 from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
