Obituary of Michael PETER FitzGibbon

FITZGIBBON, Michael PETER – October 19, 1949 to August 22, 2011. At Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington. Peter was predeceased by his loving parents Vincent (2005) and Elizabeth (Bette) (1966) and his brother Paul (1998) and is survived by his caring step-mother, Dolores. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Kathleen & Gary Tyminski, Elizabeth Hodge, Amy FitzGibbon, Bob FitzGibbon all of London, Ontario and fondly remembered by his step-siblings, Louise Savoie, Helen Laflamme, Denyse & Randy Levitt, Albert & Maryjane Laberge, Shirley Thompson and Theresa Moran. Peter is also survived by his Uncle Leo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter will be remembered not for the trials he suffered with an Acquired Brain Injury, but for his wonderful sense of humour. The family would like to thank all of the Management and Staff of Brain Injury Community Re-Entry (Niagara) who cared for Peter and for their compassion, support, professionalism and dedication to their jobs. Peter is resting at Patrick Darte Funeral Home (39 Court Street in St. Catharines (905-685-6584). Visitation will be held on Thursday August 25, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Dennis Church, 230 Lake Street at Carleton, St. Catharines on Friday August 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. The Rite of committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
